Kenya Cross-Cultural
Over the past few years, I've been able to broaden my perspectives by stepping out of my comfort zone and experiencing new places and people. In May 2013, I went on a three-week cross-cultural trip to Kenya where I had the privilege of interacting with Kenyan students, took courses at the University of Nairobi, stayed with a host family, traveled the country, and volunteered at the New Life Home Trust orphanages in Kilimani, Kisumu, and Nakuru.

Family Life Education program
In the Fall of 2013, I developed a Family Life Education program as a class project entitled, "A Steady Mind: Understanding Family Processes and Child Anxiety." As someone who understands the personal and familial effects of anxiety, I developed a program that would to help enrich family functioning in families with an anxious child. This program was designed as an education program (or workshop) for married parents who have an anxious child. Some of the goals for this program were designed to help parents:
1. Obtain an accurate and healthy understanding of child anxiety, and learn positive coping styles
2. Learn effective ways to communicate and interact with their child
3. Learn how family members influence on another and how family processes affect family and child
anxiety
4. Become aware of how certain parenting styles, parent-child attachment, and behaviors affect child
anxiety
5. Identify and devise ways they can maintain a strong and healthy marriage with their spouse

Koinonia Small-Group Ministry Team
During my junior year at Messiah College, I was part a campus ministry team called Koinonia Small-Group Ministry. This student ministry places students into small groups on campus where they can interact in a Bible or book study, prayer group, or service group. While on this team, I assisted in planning various events within the organization on campus, and learned valuable skills of team-oriented leadership. Other Roles and Obligations
During my senior year at Messiah, I was an Orientation Leader where I had the opportunity to reach out to a group of first-year students to help welcome and orient them to Messiah College. I loved this role as a student leader because I was able to encourage and form relationships with new students.
During both my junior and senior year, I was the work study for the Associate College Pastor. My duties varied each day, but mostly this role consisted of:
